What this page helps you decide
Rent Gap Timeline
- 1: Enter rent due, cash available now and the next reliable income date.
- 2: Add any confirmed landlord grace period or payment arrangement.
- 3: Calculate the actual dollars missing and the number of days until income arrives.
- 4: Request only the remaining gap if borrowing is still necessary.
Late Fee / Landlord Plan / Assistance / Loan Matrix
Next-Paycheck Collision Check
- Add the proposed lender payment to next month’s essential bills.
- Do not assume the security deposit or tax refund will arrive in time to repay.
- If the new payment recreates the same rent gap next month, reduce the request or use a different path.
Deadline & Funding Reality
- A lender decision is not the same as bank arrival.
- Weekends, verification and bank processing can push funding past the rent deadline.
- If timing is too tight, prioritize landlord communication and assistance while the request is being reviewed.
Emergency Assistance Route
- Use 211, HUD/USA.gov or local legal-aid resources to identify rental help.
- Do not pay an upfront fee to an unknown party that promises guaranteed rental assistance or a guaranteed loan.
- CTCLoans cannot stop eviction activity or change a lease; seek local legal help for legal questions.
Decision FAQ
Questions to resolve before you submit a request
Does CTCLoans pay my rent directly?
No. CTCLoans routes a loan request to participating partners; any lender offer and funding method come from that lender.
Should I request the full rent amount?
Not if part is already covered. Use the actual unpaid gap after cash, confirmed assistance or a landlord arrangement.
Can bad credit prevent an offer?
Participating lenders set their own criteria. Credit may be one factor along with income, debt and other information.
What if rent is due today?
Funding cannot be guaranteed for a specific day. Contact the landlord and local assistance resources immediately while exploring financing.
